Good effort by the team — they fought with heart until the end of the game. Should have won but the Las Vegas refs and East Coast liberals took the game away from us at the end. I’m proud of our boys tonight, and nothing will change that.

Shannon Dawson screwed it up with that run play at the end.

Why??????? Why did they run the ball?????!!!!!

Before the game, I was ready to run through a wall. At the end, I was ready to punch a wall.

We had so many opportunities to win this game, it is not even funny. I don’t understand the play calling on the final drive, but there were plenty of plays and missed opportunities that lost the game for us tonight.

Ye refs? Please dude. Our cats choked up when the big plays mattered the most and Auburn didn’t. So frustrating….

Wasted so much time on that play it killed the momentum.

Another dropped pass – did they dip their gloves in wesson oil before the game?

Effort was good I thought. Beside the obvious mistakes, special teams hurt us gravely. Looking forward to the next one. Go Cats!

Lots of chances and yet again as a UK football fan we come away thing about what could have been. One of the most disappointing loses yet.

Unfortunately Towles made his mind up pre-snap that if the first read isn’t there he’s running regardless.
Too many missed opportunities. The drops, as well as the pick in the end zone with the inside receiver wide open over the middle.
Conrad could really open things up for everyone else down the seams, but they don’t use him.

It feels like this program is becoming the “same old Kentucky”, after showing so much promise. It’s truly sickening.

Dropped passes, weird play calls, INTs in the red zone that’s Kentucky football. I assume the BOOM run was some desperate attempt to catch AU off guard. Seemed might have been a no call on PI on Badet on last pass.

    10:48 pm October 15, 2015 Permalink

offing brutal. Towles played great tonight and they were so close every time they went deep but 3rd and 3 with the game on the line is not the time for a jump ball deep pass. We had them. Maybe Im ridiculous but UK could easily be undefeated.

    • glenn
      10:55 pm October 15, 2015 Permalink

Or they could easily be 1 and 5.

      10:58 pm October 15, 2015 Permalink

I agree, we had several drives stall because we wasted downs and did not execute on home-run passes. If we had stayed with the game plan we would have moved the ball more, scored more and kept the ball out of Auburn’s hands. The one that got me, I think it was in the third quarter, we were 3rd and 3 after going for it on 4th earlier and Dawson has Towles throwing for the end zone. We had two plays to get 3 yards and keep the drive going. Instead we had to settle for a field goal.

    • Tommycatsfan

Yeah. We are getting better because maybe we will finish ahead of Vandy in the east this year. I’m a UK football fan and honestly don’t know why? It’s always going to let you down. UK football sucks out loud and is a f*cking joke. When does basketball start?

  17. John

Should have won the game, but I refuse to keep being cynical about UK football. We are a “pretty good” team this year that should have won the game, but we didn’t. “Pretty good” is a hell of a lot better than 3 years ago. Keep improving and I’m satisfied.

    • Stevem
      11:00 pm October 15, 2015 Permalink

Pretty good is a relevant term. Compared to our recent history we are better but compared to the SEC as a whole we have not

  22. glenn
    10:52 pm October 15, 2015 Permalink

This is a loss I can live with. Sure there were plenty of opportunities to win but we also made many big plays. Stoops needs to calm down a little on the side-line so his coordinators can think. In the end we got beat by a slightly better or maybe luckier team than us. Great effort on both sides of the ball!

Towles is garbage. He won’t ever get benched because of his grandfather’s name though. Both losses this year were totally on him. He couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn against Florida and threw a pick in the end zone tonight. WHEN will we see what Baker can do just for the sake of it?

Did hurt losing Melvin, in all honesty Elam did not play as poorly as you are trying to imply but the big boy does need to lose weight and get stronger. Elam should have got the redshirt his freshman year, it’s all on him going forward as too what impact he will have for the team.

Talent my friends wins over 90% of the time. I said this all week and our 3 star players are not gonna beat 4 and 5 star teams. Yes could have won the game if Baker and Boom could catch a pass, if Dawson doesn’t call a really dumbass running play at the end, if Towles had a brain that functions under stress, and if this team was coached at all on defense. Zero turnovers for Auburn? Now is time to pray this team can win 6. No way do I see any sure games but the little sisters of the poor game. Even Vandy can beat this team especially in Nashville and forget UT they will destroy us, and UL has the defense to stop us so where does 6 happen?

    • BevinOrBust

The 50 year history of UK football goes on. Defense and special teams were terrible. Whoever was responsible for that 8 man defensive screw up near the end should be fired after coming out of that time out. Dawson blew it at the end. Whoever blames this on the refs is an idiot

Besides the obvious drops and bad play calling I would like to point out the Foster has now developed into the worst punter in the SEC. I would also like to make a shout out to Cody Quinn who couldn’t cover a pea with a giant tarp. Why is he starting over Harmon?

Again some Kentucky football fans just are looking at offense and last drive, game was lost in first half when our defense just couldn’t make stops or make a big play. The field goal right before halftime really came back to haunt the cats. Kicking game was poor all night kickoffs and punts and yet with so many drops and the Internet in end zone did hurt, they still had a chance to win game.

Can we get Chris in Richmond a press pass. I’d love to see him lob a few questions at Stoops and the boys.

  36. refs f-ing us all the time
    11:02 pm October 15, 2015 Permalink

Anyone else notice the auburn player ran for a first down then went out of bounds yet clock kept running. We lost about a min. Of remaining time because of that. I get as frustrated as anyone else by patty ices over, under, and behind the receiver passes but seems like they drop about 50% of what hits their hands. Not to mention the play calling as well but Jesus we open up with running all over them then just stop running till end of game but then run the ball with under 2 min.s remaining. Sucks this game was on a Thursday as I will be completely useless tomorrow at work.

We not only should have won this game, but should have won it pretty easily. Our defense was not ready to play at all and giving up 30 points to this Auburn team with a RS Fr QB is unacceptable. Special teams is just a joke right now. The offense did put up 27 points which should have been more than enough to get the win, but we missed out on several opportunities because of lack of execution either by Towles or the WRs, and that last drive was a train wreck. This one hurts because for once we were the better team. I’ve been watching UK football for over 30 years and this has to be by far the most inconsistent team we’ve had.

    • Oldtimer

All good comments. Special teams coach should be fired. Defense could never gain the edge on the run around the corners. Game was lost in the first half. Coulda shoulda woulda….same old same old

    11:15 pm October 15, 2015 Permalink

Maybe next time we can play with 7. Reminded me of Coach Norman Dale in Hoosiers when he played 4 versus 5. Would Nick Saban ever play with 8 guys? That was embarrassing and on national television. But let’s be real. UL-Lafayette, South Carolina, Missouri, and EKU are our wins. Lafayette is bad this year, South Carolina is so pitiful Spurrier picked golf over coaching them two more months, Mizzou is depleted this year, and EKU is an FCS team that beat us everywhere except the scoreboard. We are who we are.

    • Oldtimer
      11:18 pm October 15, 2015 Permalink

Your right on. A loss to EKU who deserved to win would have us talking basketball tonight. Same story with UK football

Man, can you imagine if we’d have just beaten Florida and Auburn we’d be 6-0!!!!

Now will you ‘fan’ that obviously don’t know football stop with the ideas of grandeur. I love UK and they are on the way up but Gezzzz shut the hel l up with this we can compete for the east crap and what it’s.

Enjoy the team for who they are. An improving solid team that will probably go 7-5 and head to a bowl.

Pretty good if you compare it to Joker’s last season!

Dumbest MFn play call I’ve ever seen in a football game in my life! Hand the damn game right to them! Love Stoops but that stupid shit will get a fan base to hate you and your coaching staff real quick! Pathetic on the coaches the last 2 plus minutes of play…..

Problem is, EKU only feels that way a couple times per year, UK feels it much more often every season.

  42. BluedAgain
    11:43 pm October 15, 2015 Permalink

If the last two weeks of play by UK is indicative of what we are to expect for the remainder of the season, I think it will be safe to say, Stoops will not be leaving anytime soon.
As I see it, UK has to score 35 points per game to even have a shot at winning. Our defense is atrocious, at best. Their performance tonight, makes me think we may have won our last SEC game. Vandy could score at will on us, the way we played the last two games.
Special teams were a humiliation. I will just let that float.
Offense, poor play calling, poor execution, turnover, dropped balls, missed blocks, sacks. Same Kentucky, different day, battling for the bottom again.
