The last few months have seen a trend of experts projecting UK to finish around the middle or bottom half of the SEC East despite the endless amount of the talent they return on both ends of the field. Here’s what Marcello wrote about the incoming Kentucky squad:
Kentucky loses All-American Lynn Bowden, who was pushed into action and electrified the offense at quarterback last season with 1,468 yards on the ground, but previously-injured starter Terry Wilson is back. And consider this: Kentucky returns 73 percent of its production on offense and defense from last season, ranking 25th nationally, according to ESPN’s Bill Connelly. The offense should be better and the defense could be near where it was last season as a top-25 unit thanks to the return of three of four starters in the secondary. The Wildcats advance to a bowl game for a fifth straight year.
In the West, Marcello has Alabama finishing atop the standings and he even went as far as to say that the Crimson Tide win the SEC Championship.
Do you agree with where he has the ‘Cats? Florida appears to be the unanimous favorite to win the East, Georgia is always a contender, and Tennessee is expected to have its best team in a few years. At least he doesn’t have South Carolina ahead of Kentucky…
