24 hours to go: GatorBait “continues to hear” George Brown Jr. will pick Florida

Kentucky leads George Brown Jr.’s Crystal Ball prediction with 88 percent of the vote, but GatorBait.net, the Florida 247Sports affiliate, still expects him to pick the Gators. “We continue to hear the Gators are confident in landing the three-star prospect,” the site’s Recruiting Insider writes.

Brown, set to announce his decision tomorrow afternoon, recently took a visit to Gainesville (his final visit before deciding) and immediately unfollowed almost all UK-related Twitter accounts, while adding several Florida assistant coaches, beat writers, players and former players. If you read into that stuff, it could be a very telling sign.

But the UK staff is also confident it will land Brown tomorrow at 1:30 pm, says Chris Fisher, which means one side is in for a letdown. Kentucky was at one time the very heavy favorite for the offensive lineman from Cincinnati, and he has taken at least six unofficial visits to Lexington.

24 hours until he tells the world…

UK is in a tug -o-war match with Florida over a 3 star recruit? Wow, how the mighty have fallen!! Go Cats!!

Shut up. The UL fan trolling has to stop.

How many little brothers do you know that stop tagging along after big brother? This one has been sack hanging for a very long time. Even their Turtleneck AD endorses it.

Now, let’s talk football. You have to love it when UK goes head to head in recruiting with the Florida’s and Alabama’s. I hope we get him. He gets to play in the big boy conference and is close enough for his parents to come to the game. BBN welcomes you with open arms.

Pretty sure this commenter is referring to the fact that Florida is garbage now, not the fact that this recruit isn’t good or making a slight at UK. Might have come across wrong.

Hartline – yeah that is exactly the point, he is saying FL is garbage and thereby calling KY garbage bc FL has to compete w us for recruits. We all know UK isn’t that good right now, but typically people who make those comments are trolls. Not sure if this dude is, I’ll agree with that.

He is definitely going to Florida now that he unfollowed alll people related to UK. Unless he was trying to fool people. Oh well, we will get someone else

He’s UK bound. Of course Gator Bait picked Florida, they cover FL…. Lol and look who George Brown has followed. He followed Avery Williamson.

Whenever I have a conundrum , I look to my trusty paper fortune teller for answers. Rest assured, George Brown is going to Kentucky, is marrying a millionare, and will have 37 kids. One of which, will be president.

L1C6, don’t forget how he used “loose”. I don’t know how so many people can mix up the context of loose and lose. I’d rather see it spelled “looz”. At least I’d still pronounce it right

GO GATORS. Hope we get Brown, we need him. Check out this infographic of the top 10 most powerful athletes. Play his cards right and Brown could make this list one day ha ha http://www.skyrange.net/10-most-powerful-athletes

“But the UK staff is also confident it will land Brown tomorrow at 1:30 pm, says Chris Fisher” – Yeah well, Chris Fisher still has his crystal ball showing Marcelys Jones to flipping to Kentucky and bringing his Glenville teammates with him. How did that work out? I have to come to believe that Chris Fisher is mildly retarded.

      3:50 pm July 24, 2014 Permalink

These comments usually don’t bother me. But I know Chris and I have two close friends that are special needs teachers that have chastised me over and over for using the “R” word. At best, it’s tasteless to use that word.

More to the point, though. We have seen over and over again that, in some cases, the kids don’t even know what they are really going to do until even the day before. You get all that attention. That is why getting the last official visit is such a huge advantage. At that age, it is easy to be swayed. Hopefully, he listens to all those around him and he sticks with UK. UF is in a funk right now and may not get better soon. My guess is Mushcamp is not a good enough salesman to convince G. Brown’s family that his job is safe. I think we get him!

“recently took a visit to Gainesville (his final visit before deciding) and immediately unfollowed almost all UK-related Twitter accounts, while adding several Florida assistant coaches, beat writers, players and former players.”==== Not sure how this could be a Ky lean, in fact how strange would that be if he picked Uk after doing that,?

    • Jordan
      3:15 pm July 24, 2014 Permalink

Maybe he thinks since he’s going to be spending all of his time practicing and hanging out with the players and staff when he commits to UK, he can unfollow them and follow the UF players to still keep in touch and see posted pics of their babies and meals

Can’t be a good sign he unfollowed most of his UK twitter accounts. Plus there’s the vague tweet by Mushchamp the day after he visited Florida. I would say things have flipped in Florida’s favor.

It’s time to move on from George Brown. There is a 0% chance he is committing to Kentucky. A reliable source says Brown spoke with Muschamp Wednesday and gave his commitment to Florida during the conversation.

  14. Joe D.

Expect Brown to commit to Florida tomorrow, especially if Musgrove’s inadvertently publicized
twitter reply was to Brown. Hope I am wrong, of course, but it looks like the young man apparently found something he liked better in Florida and the Gator Nation than what he purportedly loved about Kentucky and the BBN less than a week ago. Wouldn’t be the first time and won’t be the last IMHO. His choice for his life. Wish the young man well in his college career except of course, when he is playing against us and our interests.

Could it have possibly been the winning tradition? Or the weather? Or the fact he could wear sandals all year? Or the women that he liked better? JK, but I actually don’t understand how anyone could commit to a coach who probably won’t be there after this season ends

  15. Rob

Wouldn’t be suprised to see him go gators, then flip to the Cats mid-season when Florida looses at home to Kentucky and their coach gets fired immediately afterward.
