UK Football Spring Game Announced

216 days. That’s how many days until The defending Citrus Bowl champs retake the field against Toledo on August 31st to kick off the 2019 season.

Dreadful, I know, but no need to worry, because Kentucky will be hosting their annual blue-white spring game on Friday, April 12th at 6:00 pm at Kroger Field.

The spring game is a great chance to get an early look at the Wildcats coming off of their historic season. This year Kentucky will try to replace key players like the school’s all-time leading rusher, Benny Snell, and a consensus all-American and likely top five draft pick Josh Allen.

Remember in 2013 when 50,000 members of the BBN packed what was then commonwealth stadium to watch the final spring practice for a team that only won two games the year prior? One could only imagine what we could do for a team that just went 10-3 and won the Citrus Bowl.

UK athletics will give out ticket information in the coming days.

It would be much easier if this was a Saturday night event instead of on Friday. Attendance would probably double too.

Agreed – it’s hard to make it to Lexington for a Friday scrimmage when you live 2-3 hours away. Also hard to justify taking time off work. Would rather use time to go on football road trip. Please consider moving back to Saturday in future years. Know want to be on SEC network but surely could rotate where we don’t have to be on Friday every year.

I would really like to know the main reason(s) for playing the game on Friday night instead of Saturday? Was the decision based on the Cats getting to be on the SEC Network or were there other factors? I bet the attendance will be less than 20K.

Until we’re a consistent top East team, this is what we’ll get. We’re going to have to EARN that Saturday spot. One great year is not going to get it. Let’s just get everyone we can there for Friday and make a statement.
