Early movement on the UK-South Carolina line

The big bettors out in Las Vegas went hard on Kentucky once this coming Saturday’s line hit sports books. The line opened up at -9 in favor of South Carolina, but has since dropped to -7.5 thanks to heavy action on the Cats.

This chart shows its movement since yesterday afternoon:

We have all week to study up and make our predictions for the game, but for the sake of Labor Day discussion, what do we think about that spread?

I think UK as an away dog is a foregone conclusion in Vegas, but I’m confident in +7.

I’d take us all the way up to -2.

If it was in CWS I think I’d take us up to -6.

    HATERS BE DAMNED.

SC will run the ball down our throats. Cats run defense is almost non existent. SC does have a real poor QB so the match up there is even. If I was betting, my money goes on SC.

    Lotsa trolls out today.

Let’s judge them on one game, with suspended players and freshmen starting their first D1 football game….

They’re not trolls … they’re fans who expect us to always lose because we’ve always lost.

      It’s actually sadder.

True. We have some of the best, and also some of the worst, fans in all of college sports.

We get CJ back and he is a pass rush specialist. Stopping the run is gonna be crucial. If they do the read option, which ULL burned us with on a few occasions, it could be a long night. We have quite a bit of youth on D and no Jason Hatcher. If we cant stop the run, then we are doomed. Hopefully Melvin and Matt Elam can get into the back field to wreak havoc.

I find it amusing that if you state your opinion on here contrary to what everybody wants your either a troll or a poor fan. Be honest with yourselves here. Saturday the Cats were dominated in the second half by a Sun Belt team. We all know UK was very fortunate to win thanks to penalties. ULL was much better coached, made better in game decisions, and outplayed a bigger, more talented SEC team. The Cats have got to make better plays from the coaching to the players. Until this team plays every play, every series, and every game as if it will make the difference in the final outcome it cannot succeed in the SEC.

Um, ULL lost, dipshit…… and yes, you’re either a troll or a bandwagon fan – that much is obvious, and either of which is sad and pathetic.

      UK is 1-0.

And you sir are exactly the type of person I was talking about, no ones opinion is BS if it does not match yours. Now go back and read what I said again. Everyone in the stadium knows UK does not win without 2 crucial penalties on their last drive giving em first downs. Not every UK fan ignores the obvious like you do Captain.

time expired, you are quite right, sir. I have been a cats fan for over 50 years, and facts and experience can’t be denied. what happened sat. nite was that we got a few breaks that normally don’t go our way. being a cats fan I have learned to look for rainbows in the rain, and my hope is, he was hiding the stuff he want’s to use against SC. if not, you are correct, we have small chance. and the flawed defense was just that………flawed.
