11 Personnel E65: Drinking Fulmer’s Tears and Shoving Drinkwitz into a Locker

Phil Fulmer has been a thorn in Adam Luckett’s side for decades. Eli Drinkwitz has made the hair stand up on Nick Roush’s neck since the day he was hired. It’s the perfect recipe for a wildly entertaining edition of 11 Personnel where they celebrate the win over Tennessee and preview the matchup with Missouri. Highlights:

  • Why this loss hurts the Vols harder than any other loss.
  • How you beat tempo.
  • Carrying second half offensive momentum into CoMo.
  • The scheduling shuffle might actually benefit UK.
  • Drinkwitz and Satterfield aren’t so different, especially on offense.
  • Padding stats vs. Pelini.
  • Bazelak and Bolton can ball.
  • Who was Stoops talking about at Monday’s presser?

You can easily stream online through Spotify or you can get the podcast sent directly to your phone by subscribing to 11 Personnel on iTunes.

You beat tempo by not caring about their tempo. Tempo teams don’t care about time of possession, so simply “dominating” a stat they don’t care about means nothing. If they want to go fast, let them go fast. If they want to go slow, let them go slow. If you play good defense, you’re still getting stops and giving the ball back to your offense.
