100 Days Until Kickoff LETS GOOOOOOOO

@UKStoopsTroops

The countdown clock hit the 100-day mark until Kentucky football’s season opener in Commonwealth Stadium. We have a little summertime to enjoy first, but it won’t be long before Shannon Dawson brings his high-powered, fade-route-from-the-one-yard-line, draw-on-3rd-and-13, it-would’ve-been-a-good-call-if-it-worked offense back to Lexington with his new team, Southern Miss.

That game will kick off on Saturday, September 3 (the Thursday night move is 100 percent not happening), 100 days from now, at a time to be announced later on.

Not impressed at all with the Spring Game, just more of the same…

Good, no Thursday night games for me.I will be watching on tv and going to some of the games. Not a band wagon fan like some are.

Wow I can’t wait! 100 days till a season of high expectations, hype videos, no results and an off-season of talking about how much better we’re going to be next year.

If UK loses in 100 days to Southern Miss, all the ads and hype in the world won’t help. The season will simply be doomed.

I am READY !!! Wished UK football was a year round sport. Will be glad when the results are on the field…..that will stop the whiners(see above). They will be so happy. Happy based on winning isn’t a happy at all. It’s a crybaby that got what it want. Much rather watch the football team lose one game than watch the basketball team bring home #9. UK football > UK basketball. #ALLIN

It blows my mind. Barnhart and Stoops talking pay back to the fans. Hype machine starting early. Season ticket sales must not be doing well. Is that pay back for the lack of success or improvement thus far? Or is it for the $12 million it will cost to fire Stoops AFTER this upcoming season?
The program looks like a dumpster fire. Barnhart looks less than stellar in contract negotiations.
Our pay back is getting bent over again.
Thanks, but no thanks, Mitch and Mark if all we get is more of the same.

Good grief, dumpster fire??? If we had picked up two yards against Vandy and made a bowl last year most people would be singing a different tune but we may still have an OC that did not quite fit. Barker was not quite ready last year and Towles was just unable to give us the play needed to compensate for a weak O line ( his throws were late and behind a lot of the time) Stoops has never been a HC before and he has had to make some adjustments to the job and this league. You can’t sign a couple of freshman and turn a team around like basketball. Sure, everyone wished we would have hit 6 W’s the last two years but coming up a bit short does not make it panic time. We may win 5 again this year and I would still want Stoops back next year. #footballfirst #stoopstroops

      If?

You can’t play that ole iffin game. Just ask Jerry Claiborne.

      5 wins?

Have you looked at the schedule next season? 5 wins would be a miracle. Ain’t happening.

You all need a new coach. Stoops has had plenty of time to prove he can field a team that does not need to go to OT to beat EKU.

What league is he “adjusting to”? The OVC? Well he did get one win over the FCS league…barely.

      Good job. lmao

There’s already a defeatist tone in some of the U.K. Media. “We could go 4-8 next year, but be better than last year!” Or “if Stoops can’t win here, no one can!”

“if Stoops can’t win here, no one can!”

Yes because everybody knows he is the next Bear Bryant…er, uh…or maybe he is the next Ron Zook. Can recruit like crazy, but can’t coach a lick.

I’m not going to defend Dawson because I don’t think he knew how to utilize personnel. However, I’ve never seen critics get more mileage out of 1 play that didn’t work than that draw play. Mumme became a folk hero here by calling trick plays, like fake punts in his own territory, some that worked and some that didn’t. Dawson tried to surprise the other team and the play didn’t work, due to some bad blocking, and people were ready to run him out of town. Bad news people – it’s been a while since UK football could line up and say “you know what we’re going to do, now stop us”.
