Drew Franklin had it right on Kentucky Sports Radio last week. Zion Williamson is a big ol’ boy. Well, maybe. Either he was right or terribly mistaken when he called Williamson fat on the radio. Duke listed Williamson at 6-foot-7 and 285-pounds on Tuesday.
Two. Hundred. Eighty. Five. Pounds.

He would be the 25th heaviest player on UK’s football team. That’s a group that features dozens of offensive and defensive lineman that are 300+ pounds. It would be worth laughing about if he weren’t the most athletic player in college basketball and despite his weight no one is a better dunker.
That’s why it’s somewhat terrifying. Conditioning has been an issue for Williamson in the past and we can’t imagine it’s gotten any better, but when Williamson isn’t fatigued he’s an absolute monster. I still think UK beats Duke in the season opener, but many have overblown Duke having three players at the same position on the wing. Cameron Reddish and R.J. Barrett can play the two and three, but it’s looking like Williamson will comfortably be Duke’s four.
He’s over 40 pounds heavier than UK’s biggest player. Let’s hope he struggles with length.
But hey, at least this shirt tweeted by Wildcatty11 isn’t going to go to waste.
