Your Final Four #TeamStream broadcast crew has been announced
Dave Baker, Rex Chapman and Michael Eaves will handle the TeamStream announcing at the Final Four, CBS announced today. They will be the voices of your homer coverage for the seminal game with Wisconsin beginning around 8:30 pm on TNT.
Baker and Chapman are back for a second year, while Eaves replaces Rob Bromley in the crew.
My plea for Lukasz Obrzut, Lukasz Obrzut and Lukasz Obrzut was ignored. Maybe next year, Woo.

I was seriously rooting for Matt. Honestly, the choice of Chapman is just insulting after last year’s fiasco. We won’t be watching at our house.

It COMPLETELY sucks that they hired Chapman for this. It is supposed to be PRO UK announcers, not rumor mongers trying to screw up the program.

I like Dave Baker ok but blah….. if they want to appeal to UK fans they need to pick someone who is acutally popular with the fans.
He’s an UK alumnus who has been a sports announcer in LA for 20 years. He works for Al Jazeera America currently.

I use the sync radio for every game, nothing better than Tom Leach saying “Book’em!” Also, if you live close to Cincinnati/NKY, you can tune into 1530AM and the signal is just about dead on the TV.
I had never heard of that radio until coming across it on the web the other day. I want one! But, that’s not in the cards (no pun intended!) right now. Maybe for next year by football season!

I am just stunned. Rex remains dead to me and always will. Will just have to suffer through the main broadcast now. I’d take Webber, Elmore and Albert, 3 people without current college basketball knowledge over any team Rex is on. Hope the ratings are low enough to make them actually try to find a team the fan base would like to listen to next year.

I agree with a lot of the comments here. Rex was a great player, I watched him as a player in HS. However, his life decisions as a person, leave me with a dirty taste in my mouth. It appears that he is being rewarded for his lifestyle and mouth. He should think before he speaks.
I would like to have had Larry Conley and Tom Hammond as our announcers, or at least have Matt Jones replace Rex. Eaves will give us good comments and so will Buzz. I just hope they can control Rex. Rex owes the #BBN a big apology.

Larry and Tom would have been awesome homers! Also, could Tony Delk not do it? I assume since he’s under contract with the SEC Network/ESPN that might hamper that. But I like listening to him.
Jay Bilas (and some other ESPN guys I think) used to do color in early rounds since CBS didn’t have enough guys on staff, but I don’t know that it still happens.
Oh, and ditto on Larry & Tom. However, I still think they could just pipe in Tom & Mike and it would be GREAT! I guess the problem is they can’t do all the radio pre-game stuff at the same time.

This is a sick joke, right? Like one person above said, tomorrow is April 1. However, TODAY is NOT April 1, so I guess it’s true. I seriously thought in no way would Rex even be considered. Awful, absolutely awful.
I won’t be watching it. I won’t be where I can listen to Tom & Mike, so I guess I’ll just have to mute the sound altogether if Len Elmore is on the main broadcast, and Webber for that matter too.

It seems to me the DA’s office in Scottsdale would prefer Rex stick close to the area. Or have him with an ankle band strapped on. Then again, he was allowed to come to Louisville for ‘rehab’ the day after he was arrested, apparently they run a pretty lax operation out in the desert…..

This broadcast will have horrible ratings. I hope the other three schools have a better broadcasting lineup than this. I suppose they wanted to get a few more viewers considering Rex’s troubled recent past, but its a big swing and miss for TNT.

Did you notice Rex hardly tweeted at all after he was charged, I’m sure his lawyer told him to lay low but now he’s back and has never apologized for the stupid tweet nor embarrassing the BBN with his theft of Viagra. You had your day in the BBN limelight Rex, you scrwed up and now it’s time to move on! We don’t want you representing our school in this broadcast! Please skip the drama and just announce that you deciding to turn down the Team Stream offer. We DO NOT want you Rex! If you want to get some respect back just decline their offer please!

1 – UK was no doubt consulted on this & as a way to clear Chapman’s name, he was selected.
2- The UK fan base was NOT consulted. If we were, we would be able to hear the pre-game & post-game shows online.
3 – Rex has more experience stealing from Apple Stores than Matt Jones does!

Rex is a terrible choice from a professional standpoint and even more so from a public relations standpoint. Very few ex-UK players are disliked more than King-Jerk. Dave Baker is making a mistake working with Chapman….seems like he is whoring himself out for the dollar.
