Last night I asked you, our loyal KSR readers, to declare a slam dunk champion from Kentucky’s preseason schedule of games. We gave you 10 candidates from the Blue-White, Clarion and Asbury games, and you declared Mychal Mulder the champ in a landslide vote.

The final results:

Dunks Total Points First Place Votes
First degree Mulder 16598 1062
Willis rocks the cradle 12299 141
Monk Blue-White 12160 350
Monk 360 11775 110
Monk hammers Asbury 11587 99
Monk reverse 9996 54
Fox down the lane 9704 17
Hawkins to Willis 8137 47
Briscoe to SKJ 6953 6
Briscoe can dunk 4851 6

I guess we better watch it one more time in honor of its big victory:

I dont think it was #1 bc of the competition. The munk dunks were better.

Mulder’s dunk was better because that guy tried to challenge it and it got crammed in his face. Monk’s dunks were definitely impressive, but they were fairly uncontested. In the first half Monk did try to elevate over a defender for a dunk on the baseline. Had he made that one, it would be number 1. Or at least a contender.
