When Wright State enters the friendly confines of Rupp Arena tonight, it will do so on a two-game losing streak. And if things go as expected, two will become three in a lopsided affair.
After winning its season opener against South Dakota, Wright State dropped back-to-back games against Cal State Northridge and Northern Illinois. The three games came on consecutive days as part of the NIU Showcase in DeKalb, Illinois.
Wright State held a six-point halftime lead in its first loss, and a two-point lead with two minutes to go, but crumbled down the stretch to lose to Cal State Northridge, 67-72.
The second loss came in very similar fashion. The Raiders led Illinois State by eight, and held a two-point lead with two minutes to go, but crumbled down the stretch once again for a 59-65 loss.
If you’re wondering how Wright State compares to Kentucky’s first two opponents, Albany and NJIT, it is the least challenging of the three.
We should be in for a pretty relaxing night in Rupp, and that spread, now at -25, is in serious jeopardy of a home team cover.
