Willie gives a shoutout to the crowd for their energy

It sounds like Willie is not quite a morning person. After the game, Willie told reporters that it wasn’t easy to get out of bed this morning, but the Rupp crowd woke him up.

“Shoutout to our fans because it was rough getting out of bed at 7 this morning for shoot around. Even after the pregame meal, you’re thinking, ‘man I’m really tired right now. I don’t think I can make it through this game.’ And got out here and right when you stepped on the floor, you’re not tired anymore. You can feel the energy from the crowd, you can feel everything. It was just really fun to play in.”

Rupp has its quiet moments, but when it’s on, it’s epic. Well done, folks.
