Willie Cauley-Stein has been on a tear lately, scoring in double figures in the past five games and putting in monster performances against Texas and North Carolina. Willie’s always had potential, but this is becoming his breakout season, and in turn, his NBA stock is soaring. DraftExpress’ latest mock has Willie as the #4 pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, behind Jahlil Okafor, Emmanuel Mudiay, and Karl Towns. That’s a substantial jump for Willie, who was 9th in Chad Ford’s mock draft last week.

DraftExpress’ mock also had Dakari Johnson at #24, Andrew Harrison at #27, Alex Poythress at #36, and Aaron Harrison at #42. And yes, the mock was updated on Saturday afternoon, so it takes Alex’s injury into account.

How wild is it that the 4th best NBA prospect in the country isn’t even entirely sure he wants to play basketball professionally?

Willie, go pro, bank those paychecks, and spend the rest of your life doing weird art projects and all the other things you want to spend your time doing!

Espn is running a Duke/Elon commercial for tonight at 7 pm that might as well be a recruiting video.

The press is like a dog with a bone when they decide a particular player is the best e.g. Thomas Robinson. It took them almost a full season to figure out Davis is the better player and look at them now in the NBA. I have seen Okafor several times and he is just fine when he is the center of offensive attention but can he get his own? I don’t see an NBA team going out of their way to feed him. He isn’t nearly the defensive player Willie or Towns are and they both get their own and don’t need to be featured.

I did the math on a spreadsheet and the per minute efficiency tells a little different story.

Okafor does get roughly .17 more points per minute than either and he should. He is featured in their offense.
Willie and KAT both get more rebounds per minute
They are all pretty equal on assists per minute and steals per minute
Willie and KAT both get more blocks per minute
Okafor is far worse on turnovers per minute and has a negative assist to turnover ratio while Willie has more assists than turnovers and KAT has a lot more assists than turnovers.
Willie and KAT are both WAY

He will be in the NBA 10+ years if he wants to. Give him a great passing Lead Guard like Ulis and he is good for 10-12 points on lobs, layups and dunks alone, he’ll get 10 plus boards, he’ll get 2-3 blocks, he also has some of the quickest hands I’ve seen, it’s Anthony Davis quick, so he might get 2-3 steals a game as well.

Also call me crazy, I love A.Poythress and he will be missed. But lets be honest, we’ve had a 3 year sample size and we all know he is not the same player T.Lyles is. Alex isn’t skilled, he was more of a hustle player. So him getting hurt kind of sured up the rotation. One less guy coach Cal has to keep happy and now we get to see the 3 guard line ups that make UK lethal! Especially when Ulis, Devin and Aaron Harrison are out there together. All threats from 3. Now guess what? More space, better looks. If they double on the bigs, they will have to pay. You see how 3’s were falling last game?

    UL fans crying in 3, 2, 1.

That “statement win” against IU wasn’t so statementy to the rest of the world.

i may be riding the wave of WCS recent performances but why cant he go 1 or 2 eventually i think mudiay will pull away from the pack (HES THE REAL DEAL) but as of right now i know towns is so much younger with a little smoother offensive game. WCS has showed improvement beyond what you could imagine as far as jump hooks and even not being scared to pull up from the free throw line extended (even if hes not making it consistently it keeps the defense honest after all his motor is so much improved WCS for POY

Yes! Maybe now this will stop the talk that M Harrell will be the best player on the court on the 27th!

And hey, Willie, you can play in NBA and still design your own clothing line. See Russell Westbrook.

Can you tell I’m a huge WCS fan and have been from day one? Lol
