Will Louisville ever play basketball again?

Coronavirus has a grip on Chris Mack's program and it's not letting go anytime soon. Louisville was set to return to action tonight after another lengthy COVID-19 pause. The ACC announced today the matchup with Syracuse at the Yum! Center has been postponed after a positive test within UofL's program. Now up to four consecutive missed games, it all started when a Louisville player tested positive after the team arrived at Syracuse. That player had to drive back separately to Kentucky. Louisville has only played one of their last six scheduled games, a 74-58 win over Georgia Tech, a game that was postponed and played Feb. 1 in the middle of a Monday afternoon at the Yum! Center. The number of UofL games postponed or canceled by coronavirus is up to eight. The Cards planned on playing without two scholarship players tonight after positive tests and subsequent contact tracing. Chris Mack announced a positive test Feb. 6 and was in quarantine until Tuesday. Louisville is scheduled to play at North Carolina Saturday, but will that happen? Probably not. Rivalrying aside, this stinks. Nobody wants to see the virus effectively sideline a college basketball team as it prepares for the postseason. What will it do for their NCAA Tournament chances? Will they ever get the outbreak under control? No one has any answers right now. Even though it has not been fun to watch our team play at times, at least Kentucky fans get to watch the Wildcats play. Louisville fans wish they could say the same.
