Who wore it better?

Screen Shot 2016-05-26 at 10.50.11 AM

Kentucky’s six incoming freshmen announced their new jersey numbers yesterday and a couple of them will inherit greatness once they wear it for the first time.

In case you missed it, here are the digits for the new Wildcats:

0 De’Aaron Fox
1 Sacha Killey-Jones
3 Bam Adebayo
5 Malik Monk
20 Brad Calipari
32 Wenyen Gabriel

Now I’ll ask you: Who is your all-time favorite to wear each of those numbers?

De’Aaron Fox may already stake claim on his number. He shares it with Enes Kanter, who never played; and Marcus Lee, who only wore it on the blue alternate uni in 2015-16.

Sacha Killeya-Jones is the fourth in line to wear No. 1 in consecutive years. A Calipari player has worn the No. 1 in all but one season: the NIT year.

survey software

Bam Adebayo has the difficult task of following Tyler Ulis. I think we all know how this poll will go.

Meanwhile, Malik Monk has a long list of former No. 5s before him.

Brad Calipari will share a number with an NBA head coach still in this year’s playoffs.

And Wenyen Gabriel is the first to wear No. 32 since Brian Long.

How do you leave Meeks off of the list for #20?

Because he wore 23 at UK?

He did wear #20 his Fr year, but I think most associate #23 with him.

Because he wore #20 first…that’s why.

Should Polson be included in wearing #3 for a year when he gave up #5 for Andrew Harrison?

Must have a lot of kids voting. Doron Lamb over Jimmy Dan Conner or even Jim Master?

I was thinking the same thing. Lamb over Jimmy Dan AND Dwane Casey AND Master. Also Joe Crawford over James Lee? That championship final dunk over Duke alone should get it for him I don’t care if he was a 6th man..

My thoughts exactly. Also, as much as I loved watching Tyler play, if this poll is about talent, there is no way he matches Rex in his prime. If it is about heart, I will concede that to Ulis by a hair.

Yea I voted Tyler on emotion. Rex is an ass. Same reason I couldn’t vote for Farmer but talent wise Farmer on that 1978 UK team would have been sitting down by the towels.

    Tony Delk #00

Yeah, that’s what I got on here to say. Why was Delk left off the question for zero? Andre Riddick also could have been included, although I would have voted for Tony.

I hope Brian Long can appreciate being included in this poll.
