Kentucky Sports Radio

University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Which non-conference game are you most excited about?

Are you excited to see Kelly Oubre and Bill Self’s hairpiece in Indianapolis? The site of the 2015 NCAA Final Four will open its doors to the fourth year of the Champions Classic. You can stick around after UK’s game for Duke and Michigan State if you’re not in a hurry to get to Tin Roof.

Or maybe you like a good Rupp Arena environment on national TV, one that will showcase Myles Turner of Texas against the many bigs of Kentucky. It’ll be just the second meeting ever between the two teams and the first since the 1993 Maui Invitational. (The Cats won by 25.)

What about UCLA in Chicago? The weather will be blistering cold but it’s a double-header with Ohio State and North Carolina kicking things off in the United Center. Photo-op at the Jordan statue!

Then, of course, there is North Carolina in Rupp Arena and the Cats on the road in the Yum! Center.

Give us the one you’re looking forward to the most. Or rank them if you’re feeling froggy.

Kansas. I wish we played them every year. Self is the only one worth mentioning when it comes to recruiting against Cal

Looking forward to any good team coming to Rupp, that will help justify the price of tickets.

I agree. UL was he only good non-conference home game I’m surprised Cal didn’t try to move that game to St.louis or Atlanta or any place but Rupp.

If I had to rank all 5 of these games from toughest to should win I would go with:

    Kansas (top 5 team)
Louisville (it’s at UL and Montrezl is back)
    Texas (Myles Turner)
    UCLA (good class coming in)
Providence (should win this one @ Rupp)

Add this schedule to the reason a coach would rather have the job at UK than a job in the NBA.

Great schedule to look forward with the returning Cat’s and the incoming freshman.

40-0 will be earned with this non conferance schedule. When we go 40-0 we should and will be considered the greatest team ever!

Kansas. We lead them in all time wins by 10 games, and every win is a two-fer. Of course every loss would be the same on the Kansas side, but champions don’t back away from their challengers.

Kansas (this game should be great)
North Carolina (would love to see a smackdown of the Heels in Rupp)
Louisville (always fun to beat up on the Cards but — and this is hilarious — lil bro is a distant third on this list)
Texas (Dakari/WCS/Towns > Myles Turner by a mile)
    UCLA (Yawn)
    Providence (Double yawn)

Definitely excited about UCLA and Texas. It’s not playing some unfamiliar teams. Wish we were playing Duke over KU though.

This schedule is ridiculous.. past few seasons we’ve had a murderers row in regards to out of conference schedules. Hope it doesnt beat the team and the fan base down like it did last years.

I’m excited about them all! North Carolina has some great recruits coming in and some nice players returning. Louisville….well it’s Louisville. UCLA game will be interesting because it’s a match up we just don’t see. Kansas may be the most exciting with the big man from Chicago (Alexander) and Oubre coming in. They also have some talent returning. They should be a top 10 squad for sure. The only thing I wish is that we would play more out of conference games at opponents gym’s! I’d love to see this team go to Cameron, Pauley Pavillion, the Breslin Center or Phog Allen Fieldhouse! The neutral sites are cool and all but there’s nothing like a game played on campus. I’m still disappointed in Cal that we didn’t play at I.U. People can say what they want but he was scared to go there that season. Next season will be a blast nevertheless!
