Where UK players stand in NBA mock drafts

Vandy-6403

Now that the NFL Draft is done and over with, it is time to start looking forward to the NBA Draft in June. There are six players (underclassmen) who have currently entered their name in the NBA Draft: Malik Monk, Isaiah Briscoe, Bam Adebayo, De’Aaron Fox, Isaac Humphries, and Hamidou Diallo. Only Diallo has the option to still return to school. We did receive word yesterday that Diallo received an invitation to the NBA Combine. He joins Monk, Briscoe, Fox and Bam as other Wildcats receiving combine invitations.

Majority of the draft boards only have Fox, Monk, and Adebayo as being selected, however, Diallo did show up a few days ago as an early second round selection in the Draft Express Mock Draft. I shopped around a bit this afternoon and here are where three different sites have the Cats going:

Draft Express:
#5: De’Aaron – Orlando Magic
#7: Malik – New York Knicks
#31: Bam – Atlanta Hawks

#33: Diallo – Orlando Magic

CBS Sports:
Howard Medgal:
#7: De’Aaron – New York Knicks
#11: Malik – Charlotte Hornets

Gary Parrish:
#5: Malik – Orlando Magic
#7: De’Aaron – New York Knicks
#30: Bam – Utah Jazz

Bleacher Report:
#4: Malik – Philadelphia 76’ers
#7: De’Aaron – New York Knicks

I don’t know about you, but my favorite thing about this draft may be that Bam and Trey Lyles could potentially be teammates.

I think people are really sleeping on Bam. If he falls towards the end of the 1st round over falls out completely someone is getting a steal.

I have wondered if maybe he could be a bit of a draymond green on defense. He seems to have the athletism and body to be thatctype of defender. Just needs to work on offense more than dunking. Right team that has time to develop him.

Anyone else think it would be funny to see Bam land in Atlanta with Dwight Howard?

It crossed my mind how ironic that would be…

If Fox truly goes at #7 someone will be getting a winner.

I hope Fox and Monk can both avoid the Knicks. Phil Jackson has pulled the plug on a team that was already on life support
