I have never cared about Missouri basketball before in my life, but tonight, we are all Tigers. Florida clinched the three-seed in the SEC Tournament with today’s 80-67 win over Kentucky, meaning the Cats’ path now hangs in the balance of tonight’s Missouri/Arkansas game.
A Missouri win would put the Tigers, Cats, and Razorbacks in a three-way tie for fourth, with Kentucky winning out due to tiebreakers (head-to-head records between the three teams: Kentucky 2-1, Missouri 2-2, Arkansas 1-2). The Cats would play in the second game Friday afternoon around 3 p.m. ET.
If Arkansas wins, the Razorbacks would jump the Cats in the standings, meaning Kentucky would be the five-seed, playing on Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m. ET. They would play the winner of the 12-seed/13-seed game (likely LSU/Ole Miss) and potentially face Arkansas in the quarterfinals. No thanks.
Thankfully, the game is at Missouri. You can watch with the rest of the BBN at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
