WATCH: The FBI Scandal Hits Inside the Madness

Kentucky’s season is over, but the show must go on.

The college basketball season was rocked in mid-February when Yahoo Sports reported a list of players involved in the FBI’s pay-for-play case.  Included in the report, Inside the Madness shows how the Kentucky basketball team reacted to the news, John Calipari’s message to his players and more.

The FBI distraction is the primary focus of the episode, but it isn’t the best part.  That happens when the team takes an excursion to a local bowling alley.  Quade Green loses a bet and Wenyen Gabriel receives a tip from a fan, “Stick to basketball.”

We’re left with sifting through the rubble of this crazy, and ultimately wasted season, looking for something positive to salvage….and meanwhile Charles Matthews is on his way to the NC game with Michigan. Oh, the irony….

That’s just the way it is at UK, just like UCONN in women’s BB ; every season begins the same, with the goal of winning a NC, and falling short of that is a wasted year. It’s particularly true at UK, when the most talented players are usually only here for that 1 year anyway, and no year with the 2009-10 and 2014-15 teams being the biggest offenders.. Cal knows this, and handles the expectations like no other coach could. Sure, he’s proud of this team, especially the way the surprised everybody and won yet another SEC tourney, but you know damn well that’s not good enough for UK. That’s the mentality at a football program like Bama, Tenn, Georgia, etc….but not at Kentucky.
