WATCH: Lonzo Ball roasts dad in hilarious Foot Locker commercial

Father’s Day is on Sunday and Foot Locker’s getting in the spirit with this commercial featuring several NBA Draft prospects talking about his dad. De’Aaron Fox, Jonathan Isaac, and Jayson Tatum speak lovingly of their father’s sacrifices for them over the years, but there’s no denying that UCLA star Lonzo Ball steals the show. Ball deadpans about his outspoken father, LaVar, undeniably the hottest topic in college basketball and the NBA over the past year.

“Of course there’s that big day when your dad berates your high school in front of an entire crowd for not giving you enough touches,” Lonzo says. “Or that special moment when your dad sits you down and tells you where you’re going to college, or copyrights your name to be part of a family lifestyle brand.”

He goes on and on:

We give Lonzo a lot of grief, but this is hilarious. Well done.

odd they had d fox in the commercial with him since ya know they are going head to head over this lakers spot and could end up having a huge beef if fox gets the draft spot.

You’re way overthinking a simple commercial my man

So, does this mean that Foot Locker is carrying BBB nationally

Lonzo needs to distance himself at every opportunity from dear old dad. If he believes some of what he said in the commercial then he is on his way. Having a funky jump shot and a greedy father might be hard for an NBA team to accept. Will be fun to see what happens.

Hopefully you all do realize that this was entirely scripted. If you can’t honestly tell that all of these guys were told what to say I dunno what to tell you. sheesh. pretty obvious and i’m certain it’s in their contract to say these things. Not that they are not true but if you can’t detect that it’s all scripted you don’t have very good senses at all.

Thanks for the info. All this time I thought commercials were filmed live with zero planning. Whatever happens happens.

Hopefully Lavar can be taught to control himself and represent his brand much better. I’m impressed with his drive and desire to manage the brand, but he really needs to improve his execution on that front. If Lavar is coachable, he could actually do very well for his family and sons. BUT, only if he’s coachable.

bdmnky81 & BBNDan7 It’s always good to educate the YOUNG PEOPLE WHO ALWAYS SHOUT IN BOLD FACE. The CAPS LOCK key is over there to the left of your left pinky finger. There’s even a lil light somewhere on your notebook or desktop that even shines real bright when it’s on. Just wondering something…..were you around here back in umm, lets say early 2000’s on this site? ; )
