Kentucky sensation Kyky Tandy’s junior high school season may have been cut short by falling in the first round of the Sweet 16, but that’s not stopping him from keeping his name in the headlines.
Tandy is playing AAU ball for Team Thad on the Under Armour circuit, and his latest play in the Circle City Hoops Fest was pretty impressive.
Our friends at Frankie Vision got some stellar footage of the three-star guard out of Hopkinsville at the event.

The Kentucky coaching staff visited Tandy several times in the weeks leading up to the Sweet 16, including one visit during the regional tournament when he scored 33 points. Coach Cal has yet to pull an offer for the dynamic guard, but Tandy is looking for one. At the Sweet 16, he told KSR he “could get used to hearing his name” over the loudspeakers at Rupp Arena in college.
Almost immediately after Kentucky’s loss in their own Sweet 16, Kansas State pulled the trigger on an offer to Tandy. They join Tennessee, Florida, Oklahoma, Cincinnati, Iowa State, and others to offer scholarships to the 6-foot-1 guard.
After averaging over 30 points per game on 61% from the field and 45% from the three-point line this past season, it’s no secret teams are dying to pull in Kentucky’s homegrown talent. He’s incredibly athletic, has a beautiful jumper, and flat-out knows how to take games over in crunch time. With his team down by double-digits late in the fourth quarter in the Sweet 16, Tandy fought through double teams and nearly willed his team to victory.
“He’s a great player,” said Campbell County’s Tanner Clos after their victory over Tandy’s University Heights. “He can shoot from anywhere, even with a hand in his face, it doesn’t matter.”
Tandy is currently listed in the top-150 in the class of 2019, but don’t be surprised if he makes a big jump in the rankings this summer and throughout his senior campaign next year.
The Cats have to keep this kid home.
