The 2017-18 basketball season had its fair share of highs and lows. By the very end, the Cats were lovable, filled with personality, and managed an SEC Championship and Sweet 16 appearance to top it off.
The official Kentucky Basketball Twitter account released a video this afternoon that perfectly captured the emotional journey we saw this season, filled with Jarred Vanderbilt’s injury, the four-game losing streak, and the impressive run to finish off the year.
Take a look:
There were highs and there were lows. We grew to love this team, as we know you did. We didn’t capture our ultimate goal of winning the championship, but this season was undoubtedly a success. We faced adversity, we grew up and we captured an SEC championship. #EmbraceTheJourney pic.twitter.com/jgzuFaEy33

“To see the joy our guys had at the end of the season, the respect they had for one another and the exhilaration they experienced when they saw the growth from all their hard work — like I’ve said, this was one of the most rewarding seasons of my career,” John Calipari said in reference to the video and this season as a whole.
It may not have ended the way we all wanted, but it has certainly been one year to remember.
