It’s official: John Calipari can’t stop Zooming. Today, Calipari made an appearance on Shannon Spake’s “1 Up, 1 Down” series for Fox Sports, and talked for 30 minutes about life in quarantine, his career at Kentucky, and…dog poop?
Oh yes, the head coach of your University of Kentucky Wildcats went into detail about the best way to pick up dog poop, specifically, how to get two poops in one bag.
My goodness, he is bored. Calipari and Spake also swapped stories about the seasons she covered Kentucky as a sideline reporter for ESPN, but really, the entertainment is Calipari being his goofy quarantine self. For instance, it sounds like he had an awkward text interaction recently.
“How many times have you texted somebody and they didn’t text you back and you’re like, why didn’t they text me back? And then you look at your texts, Shannon, and you go, oh my gosh, what, I didn’t mean that! I can see how they took it.”
He also talked about his beard, and at Spake’s suggestion, said he’d consider painting it blue (he won’t). When asked about a favorite meal he’s cooked recently, he confessed that he makes a giant bowl of pasta and eats off it all week, which, honestly, sounds about right. How much does Cal love Zoom? TJ Beisner has been sharing some great moments on Twitter this week, including this one of Cal dropping in on a group of incoming Kentucky freshmen and talking about, you guessed it, one of his dogs:
