Isaiah Jackson is No. 11 in ESPN’s latest mock draft and prospect rankings, adding to the buzz he could be a lottery pick. Mike Schmitz, who worked with Jonathon Givony on the projections, recently Zoom’d with Jackson to break down his film and show why he could be, in Schmitz’s terms, “the perfect big in today’s NBA.”
The two go in-depth on Jackson’s game, reviewing clips of his time at Kentucky and in high school, talking about what makes him special as a defender and how he can improve on offense. They also discuss how he compares to Bam Adebayo and Robert Williams at the NBA level. Finally, Jackson, whose father says will stay in the draft if he’s projected to go in the lottery, gives his pitch to any teams that might be listening.
“I’m just a hard worker. I feel like me just staying in the gym 24/7 is something that a lot of people say they have but a lot of people don’t really have. Just my work ethic. I try to bring it all every game. Every game that I play in, I try to bring it all and be the best. And just helping my team, I feel like I’m the best teammate off the court and on the court. I like to get the best from my teammates and help my teammates win.”
