There were several great moments during tonight’s Hall of Fame ceremony, but the one people will be talking about tomorrow is when John Calipari invited all of his former players on stage with him during his speech.
“As you can see, I have been blessed to have all those opportunities, but the reason I stand here is more about the players I’ve coached,” Cal said. “I’m here because I’ve coached the greatest group of kids over my time than anyone could ever imagine.”
“I never grabbed a rebound, I never scored a point, I never had an assist. Now, they tell me I had a few assists in some of the losses,” he joked. Then, he invited all of his former players on stage with him.
“This is from Kentucky, Memphis, and Massachusetts.”
“Brian Long, you’re still slow, let’s go.”
