Following Kentucky’s 10-point win over Georgia, Coach John Calipari and a few of his players met with the media to recap the game. EJ Montgomery, Keion Brooks and Ashton Hagans all participated for the Cats, and Bulldog head coach Tom Crean spoke as well.
Montgomery discussed his focus on conditioning, the importance of the “bench” guys playing well and the urgency he feels to contribute:
Brooks weighed in on becoming a “player-driven team,” what he’s done to improve his rebounding numbers and how he can maximize his (sneaky) athleticism.
Hagans talked about why he continues to play so well against his home state, his mentality when he’s close to a double (or triple) double and what earning the assist record would mean to him. Plus, he knocks down a few microphones along the way, which is fun!
Tom Crean began his presser with praise for John Calipari and the Cats, before ultimately weighing in on Kentucky’s ability to limit Anthony Edwards, his team’s mentality going forward and how tough it is to compete in the SEC, even if people may see this season as a “down year.”
Coach Calipari did his normal post-game thing, complete with plenty of tangents and facial expressions! Here’s the video, or you can read the full transcript here.
