WATCH: Ashton Hagans greeted by “traitor” chants at Georgia

How did Georgia fans greet Ashton Hagans, the Kentucky guard once committed to the Bulldogs? Not kindly. According to Herald-Leader photographer Charles Bertram, a group of Georgia fans chanted “traitor” at Hagans during warm-ups:

Hagans, a Cartersville, Georgia native, was all set to play for his home state Bulldogs before Mark Fox was fired. From there, he reopened his recruitment and chose Kentucky. Tom Crean said he has no hard feelings over Hagans’ decision, but clearly some Georgia fans do.

Thankfully, it sounds like Hagans is embracing his role as villain:

Time to mess around a get a triple double, Ashton.

This is why Keion Brooks ultimately ends up at IU. Can you imagine how much Hoosier fans would hate him for picking Kentucky? CATS

Pretty sure Ashton Hagans is from Covington, GA. Same town where they filmed the show, “In the Heat of the Night”. Trevor Lawrence, ‘Climpsun’ QB, is from Cartersville.
