WATCH: Ashton Hagans and EJ Montgomery break down Kentucky’s loss to Utah

After John Calipari took the podium to break down Kentucky’s 69-66 loss to Utah on Wednesday evening, Ashton Hagans and EJ Montgomery took the stand to tell their side of the story.

Hagans and Montgomery discussed what went wrong with the team, how they responded to tie the game late in the second half after getting down 17, the process of moving forward after a tough loss, and how they hope to change things up against Ohio State on Saturday.

Watch the entire press conference below:

In case you missed it last night, Calipari was asked about fight, the Cats getting down 17, and how he believed he was firmly out-coached by Utah head coach Larry Krystkowiak.

You can check that out right here, as well:

Calipari, his staff, and his players have two days to prepare for Ohio State.

How will they respond?

EJ and Nick just aren’t very good so that explains it. Guys are too worried about their hair, their shoes, and lookin good out there instead of playing hard.

Not sure how good we are. Do we play down to competition or play good just vs big name teams.

We should be #1 and unbeaten.

I kind of agree. I wouldnt bet my life on it but if I had to pick I would still pick the Cats.

Players got outplayed, and Cal got out-coached. ‘Nuff said. This team was over-ranked by a lot to begin with, but I’d wager that after they play UofL and OSU, they’ll be lucky to be ranked the rest of the season. Unless Donte and Nate start playing and light a fire in this team, they’ll easily lose 8-9 games and be a mid-low tourney seed.
