Good morning from scenic Columbia, South Carolina.
Today I’ll be your navigator to get you ready for the Cats and the Gamecocks. It’s been five years since Kentucky has won on the road, 16 years since they won in Columbia, but today’s game is one of the most anticipated road games in recent years because who in the hell really knows what’s going to happen? It’s essentially a toss up. South Carolina wasn’t that impressive in their opener, but Pharoh Cooper is hands down the best player on the field. Kentucky’s offense could be lethal, but they cannot afford a lull like last week if they expect to win in Sandstorm country.
Anything could happen tonight. The Cats are playing with house money, and I hope they push their chips all in.
Check out last week’s intro video to get your blood pumping.

Cats are Coming Home
I’m kind of glad that I didn’t interview Blake Bone this week. You never know what’s going to come out of that man’s mouth, especially before heading home to show out in front of his friends and family. I passed his hometown, Woodruff, on the way into Columbia, only 81 miles away. Hopefully he does what Juice did last year to his home-state school: ball out.

There are two Columbia natives returning home on the defensive line. Farrington Huguenin will make his first trip home as a starter and C.J. Johnson will make his Senior season debut with his family and friends in the crowd.
The Weather May Hold Out
It could dampen your Columbia tailgate, but Google believes the weather should clear up by game time. I’m going to knock on wood and bring my rain gear because you never know what’s going to happen when they call for “scattered thunderstorms.”
There’s Plenty of Good Football to Watch Before
Oklahoma travels to Rocky Top, Michigan State hosts Oregon, and LSU is at Mississippi State in just a few of today’s marquee games. Let Sports Illustrated guide you to the best games through each time slot.
Kentucky High School Football had Plenty of Upsets
The power of potent rainstorms can REALLY mess with high school footballers. 6A powerhouses St. X and Trinity were both upset. Trey will be around with a full recap from Male’s win over the Rocks later today, a game he described to me as an, “atmosphere on a college level.”
Coach Cal’s Hall of Fame Induction was a BBN Blowout
If you haven’t taken the time to see the Big Blue Bash, scroll down to watch Calipari’s speech from the Naismith Hall of Fame. There were so many former Wildcats hanging out, it all seemed too surreal. They took plenty of must-see pictures, but this one is my favorite.
