Updated Season Stats: Johnson leading scorer through three games

Through three regular season games in 2018-19, Keldon Johnson leads the way at 16.7 points per game for the Wildcats; a 19-rebound game against Southern Illinois has Nick Richards leading the team in rebounding; and if you had PJ Washington and Reid Travis as the team’s leading three-point shooters, you’re the winner.

    Hagans has only attempted 6 shots…made 2…wow.

This is why you can’t keep Hagans on the floor very long IMO. Kid is not a threat to shoot at all and our opponents know that. I wish Cal would stop recruiting guards who can’t shoot. It just doesn’t fly in this day and age. Also, look at the combined 3P % of Quickley, Green, and Johnson. Abysmal so far.

The combined % of all our wings is bad Herro and Keldon included.

But Quickley and Herro can shoot. Quade is streaky but teams respect his jumper.

Terwilliger, there are lots of teams that have all shooters and no slashers. Most of them aren’t good. That’s like 70% of all mid-major schools. Dynamic penetrators are just as valuable if not more. Kentucky’s problem in the past has been lack of balance. We did had balance with Monk and Fox tho.

And I actually like Hagans isnt forcing shots up. Very unselfish considering he was a highly touted recruit.

I wouldn’t mind Hagans as a “dynamic penetrator” if he knew how to kick out to an open shooter. So far Quade is the only guard that seems to know how to do that. The others flail in the lane and throw up turnaround fadeaways.

Hagans is what like 14 yrs old? He’s supposed to be in HS right now. Give the kid at least 5-10 mins to get his bearings in college basketball. He will be fine.

Uh, 19, held back a year so technically old for a freshman.

Terwil, people like you lost credibility when they say stuff that facts oppose. In this 8th in minutes time on the floor, he is 2nd in assists. Most of this turnovers came in the Duke game. HE’LL BE FINE! His assist/minutes ratio is off the charts.

Can we talk about how Herro has the second most minutes and he’s nothing but a shooter who can’t shoot? I think he could lose ALOT of minutes

Cal finally figured out we need shooters 10 years later.

I really don’t understand why people say we Cal never recruits shooters.
Doron Lamb, Brandon Knight, Kyle Wiltjer, Aaron Harrison, Devin Booker, Jamal Murray and Malik Monk were all shooters

After the So. Ill game when people were going nuts about Nick’s 19 boards I couldn’t wait to see how he followed that performance up…to say the least, exactly as I expected. EJ gonna get minutes.

This is a good rebounding team early it looks like . Usually cal has to do the meat grinder reform late into the winter to assure ppl block out and hit the glass. I like this from our team
