Kentucky’s starting backcourt isn’t at 100 percent entering tomorrow night’s season opener in Rupp Arena. Tyler Ulis was spotted leaving practice in a walking boot earlier today, but Calipari doesn’t think it’s anything serious.
“Tyler is fine from what I know unless there’s something I don’t know,” Cal told reporters, today.
The status of Ulis’ counterpart in the backcourt, Isaiah Briscoe, isn’t as positive. Briscoe bumped knees with Dominique Hawkins in practice and it’s unclear if he will play this weekend.
“Isaiah bumped knees with Dom and so he’s got a bruised knee,” said Cal. “Day-to-day, so I don’t know if he will go Friday and Saturday. He might.”
Back to Ulis, Cal isn’t too worried. He joked that Ulis could still go in the boot.
“Knowing him, he probably could play with that boot on.”
In other injury news, Dominique Hawkins is officially back from his broken hand.
