Here are some things you should know about tonight’s game as you read KSR on your lunch break. Plenty more game talk to come throughout the day…
The game will be televised at 7 pm on ESPN2.
Bob Picozzi and Kara Lawson will handle the play-by-play and color commentary duties for The Deuce. That is four-time Connecticut Sportscaster of the Year Bob Picozzi, to you.
Your officials for tonight’s game are… I don’t know.
Anyone know? Because I don’t.
Kentucky is currently favored by 24.5 points.
As Mrs. Tyler told you this morning, that line opened at -22.5.
The Cats won last year’s meeting, 82-49.
UK leads the head-to-head series, 11-0.
The closest game between the two schools was an eight-point Kentucky win in the first round of the 2005 NCAA Tournament.
The KSR pregame show will NOT be in the food court.
We will be inside Rupp Arena and away from the public due to a lack of a producer for tonight’s show. If you have a problem with this, blame Nathan Nelson for leaving us for a concert. If not for him, we would be in the Lexington Center with Mr. Kan’s and the people. It’s all Nathan’s fault we have to go inside and use the courtside setup. Contact Nathan on Twitter to tell him how upset you are: @nathan_nelson.
The show is at 4:30 pm and can be heard on 630 WLAP in Lexington or online. The second half-hour will also be on 98.1 The Bull.
The new gameday operation changes begin tonight.
In order to increase security measures, Rupp Arena made changes to its gameday operations and the changes go into effect for the first time tonight. I don’t know the original guidelines, so I don’t know what’s new, but it looks like you have to remove your jacket upon entry; bag checks will be more thorough; helium balloons are not permitted; and the absolutel worst of all, you cannot bring a selfie stick. For more information, read the entire release of changes here.
