UK to host Eastern Kentucky in Rupp Arena next year

The Eastern Kentucky Colonels will get a shot at the Cats in Rupp Arena next basketball season as part of the 2019-20 non-conference portion of the schedule. KSR heard whispers of this being the case a few weeks ago and today Jon Rothstein put it out there, citing one of his many trusted sources.

EKU went 13-18 last season with a seventh-place finish in the OVC. The Colonels lose their best player, Nick Mayo, who led the team in scoring, rebounds and blocks. Mayo ranked tenth in the entire country in scoring with 23.7 points per game and leaves the EKU program as its all-time leading scorer.

Outside of Mayo, pretty much everyone else from this past year’s team will be back for the second season under head coach A.W. Hamilton.
