Way back in August I was able to sit down with each member of the Kentucky Wildcats to talk about the college basketball season ahead, and part of my discussion with the new class of freshmen included a brief scouting report on each of their classmates.
Due to time constraints I was unable to get a complete report from all seven of the new Cats, but here’s what I heard about Jarred Vanderbilt when I asked his fellow freshmen to describe his game.
On Jarred Vanderbilt…
Quade Green: “Jarred, he’s versatile so he’s little Lamar Odom — he can do everything.”
Kevin Knox: “He’s real skilled for his size… 6’9. He’s able to pass it, shoot it, dribble — really good dribbling, handling; so a really good year for him. I can see him having a couple double-doubles and even a triple-double every now and then.”
P.J. Washington: “Jarred’s a funny guy. He can dribble. He can shoot. He can run. He can dunk. He’s athletic. He’s a really great player too.”
Jemarl Baker: “Lefty — that says a lot about people. Competitor. Strong. Quick. Good.”
Jarred Vanderbilt: “Beast.”
