“The show must go on.”  Tomorrow’s 4:00 game against Vanderbilt at Rupp Arena will proceed as planned, with doors opening at 2:30.

The statement from UK:

Despite winter weather conditions in the Lexington area, Saturday’s Kentucky men’s basketball game vs. Vanderbilt in Rupp Arena is still scheduled for a 4 p.m. tipoff. Unless otherwise announced by UK Athletics, the game will be played as scheduled.

Vanderbilt arrived in Lexington, Ky., on Thursday in preparation for a winter storm that has dumped large snowfall accumulations across Central Kentucky. The Wildcats returned from their Thursday night game in Fayetteville, Ark., late Thursday night.

Rupp Arena doors will open Saturday 90 minutes prior to tip. UK Athletics is encouraging all fans to use proper discretion when deciding to attend. UK Athletics recommends fans attending Saturday’s game give themselves ample time to arrive at Rupp Arena and to take caution where conditions are hazardous.

If you have tickets but would rather not make the trek through the snow to downtown Lexington, you can find more information on how sell or transfer your tickets here.

Even though it’s been a rough day, with more snow projected to fall overnight, my roommate has been out in his truck multiple times today and has had no troubles.  For those that do make it, I’m looking forward to seeing your smiling faces inside Rupp Arena.

Even though your roommate has been out in Lex in truck, (a higher profile vehicle, & possibly even a 4 wheel drive), it is somewhat different then what 24,000 fans may encounter. Ambulance even went off the road tonight on Waverly.( a lg connector road) surrounding areas got far more then 10-11-12 inches of snow that Lex rec.. It just seems UK is not taking in account fan safety when we are under a state of emergency. State & local police have been telling people to stay off the road…scheduled to snow all night…but that is ok put 24000 on the road and have a ball game. Its like the logo..most fans don’t like it, but UK could care less, just as they are saying we could care less about the safety of the fans tomorrow.
