In-person recruiting may still be paused amid coronavirus concerns and limitations, but some decisions still have to be made. That’s why Skyy Clark, a five-star basketball recruit currently playing for the Brentwood Academy in Tennessee, will be announcing his final seven schools this Friday. Kentucky is expected to make the cut.

Clark is a familiar name to the Big Blue Nation, especially to those who closely follow basketball recruiting. John Calipari extended his first scholarship offer of the summer to Clark in early July, and Clark became the first guard in the rising junior class to earn an offer from the program. The 6-foot-2 guard received a solid bump in his overall recruiting ranking after 247Sports tabbed him as the No. 13 recruit in his class. For now, that’s still the 2022 class, although there have been talks that Clark could make a jump into the 2021 class later this fall.

“You all are hearing this first, but I’m planning on taking all of my junior and senior year classes this coming year just in case I do reclass up so I’ll be ready,” Clark told KSR’s Sources Say podcast. “I’m definitely considering it now. Nothing is set in stone yet, but it’s definitely an option.”

“[I’ll decide] probably around November or December, before the first semester ends,” Clark continued. “I haven’t thought much yet about which will come first, but I feel like I’ll announce my reclass decision first before picking a college.”

For now, he’s just narrowing down his options. Clark tweeted a “decision on my recruitment [is] coming soon” Wednesday afternoon, later clarifying this “decision” will be his top-seven schools.
