UK and Calipari close to a contract extension

calflex

Worried about some of those NBA jobs opening up? Well don’t. Because according to our own Matt Jones, John Calipari and the University of Kentucky are close to tacking another year onto his current deal.

I like the thought of Cal at Kentucky through 2022.

Unless they add a buyout to the contract, I dont see how this means Cal will not listen to NBA teams.

Because Cleveland nor Chicago are going to pay $8 million a year for an unproven NBA coach. Tyron Lue in Cleveland if Blatt doesn’t survive. Hoiberg or a Spurs assistant to Chicago. Apparently, he didn’t like the Pelicans gig.

Cleveland offered him $8,000,000/year last year. I’m not saying he will leave, I’m just saying this extension doesn’t mean he will for sure stay either.

    Matt –

You just broke a pretty big story and it’s really amusing NONE of the local media acknowledged it. It honestly makes me sad for them that they stoop to that level. I mean give you and KSR credit! You do it ALL the time.
