Two Wildcats projected to go in lottery of 2021 NBA Draft

We may still be a while away from the 2020 NBA Draft, the way-too-early mock drafts are already rolling for 2021.

Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman put together a first look at the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft, where two future Kentucky Wildcats are projected to go in the lottery.

Unsurprisingly, those two Wildcats are Kentucky’s top-ranked signees in the class of 2020: BJ Boston and Terrence Clarke.

Boston – the No. 4 prospect in the 2020 247Sports Composite Rankings – came in at No. 7 in the 2021 mock draft, with Bleacher Report highlighting the 6-foot-7 guard’s unique scoring ability and size.

7. BJ Boston

A pure scoring guard/wing, BJ Boston should serve as Kentucky’s top option with his ability to create and make shots from all over the floor.

His 6’7″ size and skill level make for a tough combination offensively. Loaded with pull-ups, step-backs and NBA shooting range, Boston is highly advanced with the confidence to carry a lineup and take over games.

He should be fully prepared for the spotlight he’ll receive at Kentucky after generating rowdy crowds and rockstar attention playing for Sierra Canyon and alongside teammate Bronny James.

Shooting a high-enough percentage from the floor should ultimately help Boston hold off concerns about his skinny frame, arms and legs.

Behind him is Clarke – the No. 7 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite Rankings – at No. 14 overall.

14. Terrence Clarke

I dont know how this is possible, maybe because he’s a year younger, but Terrance Clarke, I believe, is getting overlooked or short-changed, if you will, from all over. He’s not going to be good. He’s going to be GREAT!

I think 1 of the 4 stars will come up as well. Maybe not lottery but I wouldn’t be surprised. Cal dont get enough credit for getting 4 stars drafted high due to all the 5 stars he put in. Even those that think that UK n Cal get no credit for development, you at least have to give it for spotting underated talent.

Lance Ware should be a 5 star.

I really feel like Boston has the potential to be the most impactful guard since Monk. I think he and Clarke will be explosive players at the college level, and a very formidable combo. I’m excited to see the new cats in action. Hopefully we get Sarr eligible.
