Two Cats make Fox Sports’ 2024 Dream Team

2024dream

Yesterday, Team USA brought home another gold medal in basketball, and with Coach K retiring from his position as head coach, many are already speculating about future Dream Teams. Last week, our own Jack Pilgrim looked ahead to the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo and what Cats have the best chance at representing America. This morning, friend of KSR Aaron Torres looks even further into the crystal ball, projecting the roster for the 2024 Olympics. That’s eight years from now, of course, but Torres says he believes at least two Cats will be on the 2024 Dream Team roster: Devin Booker and Bam Adebayo.

“Booker will be one of the sage, old veterans of the 2024 squad and, approaching his 28th birthday (then, not now), should be one of the established stars of the league,” Torres says. “By 2024, he should be the go-to scorer on this Team USA squad, as well as someone who (like Klay Thompson was supposed to do this summer) can stretch the floor with outside shooting.”

Torres has incoming freshman Bam Adebayo at the power forward position.

“We need an old-school banger in the paint, someone who will bring toughness and physicality when we need it the most,” Torres argues. “At 6-9, Adebayo is a tiny bit undersized, but makes up for it by playing with a ‘motor’ that is rarely seen in a player so young.”

Torres also includes 2017 target Wendell Carter on the 12-man roster and lists Malik Monk and Willie Cauley-Stein among the biggest snubs, joking that it’s equally possible that by 2024, Willie could be retired and painting murals on Venice Beach, which is 100% true.

Check out the rest of his 2024 Dream Team over at Fox Sports.
