Trey Lyles hires LeBron James’ agent

Trey Lyles now shares an agent with the best basketball player in the world, LeBron James, after signing with Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Management.
Rich Paul is a longtime friend of LeBron James — they met as teenagers in Cleveland and promised each other they’d make it big — and he became James’ agent in 2012 when he stepped out from underneath the wing of Leon Rose and CAA to start his own agency, taking James with him. Now his list of clients includes James, Eric Bledsoe, Tristan Thompson, Ben McLemore and, as of this week, Trey Lyles.
(Montrezl Harrell, too.)

I don’t understand why players need an agent. I need for someone to explain why a million dollar athlete needs someone to speak for them. You all can blast away all you want but the last thing I would do is hire an agent and negotiate the contract myself.
They know where the ropes are and you end up with more even after their fee. Unless you have remarkable experience and knowledge of how the contracts work, you’d be a fool not to hire one. One phrase worded slightly differently could cost you millions.
