Towns and Booker comment on Calipari’s postgame interview

insta

ESPN shared its postgame interview with Coach Cal on the ESPN Instagram page last night and it drew a couple of responses from two of your favorite former Wildcats.

Karl-Anthony Towns saw the video — in which Calipari says, “If anybody wants to quit, they can quit” — and wrote, “We never had this problem,” while tagging Devin Booker.

Booker responded, “Never that.”

“If anybody wants to quit, they can quit.”

Good luck to this year’s Cats with that three-hour practice today.

  1. Maybe it never happened to that team, but WCS didn’t show up in that Wisky game. Sorry, but that’s true IMO.

Completely agree as you and I have discussed before.

      Neither did Booker or Lyles.

Booker couldn’t guard Decker. That was on the coach for switching EVERYTHING.

Booker didn’t guard anyone in that game or even attempt a three. He’s a shooter who didn’t shoot. That’s on Booker. And Booker SHOULD be able to guard Decker.

Some of the guys on that team were having a little too much fun playing throughout the year and didn’t take it all serious enough or they’d have gone all the way. They obviously had the tools.

to Wabbott52 in the comment section on that instagram post: you sir an idiot. “always average at tourney time”.. Since when did 4 final fours in 7 years become average? How about not losing a single game until the final 4? The idiocy of some people is truly astonishing. Should Cal have a couple more championships? Yeah maybe… But to say that UK is “always average at tourney time” is asinine.

I suppose it buys into the KSR mantra “facts are optional”. Dumbass.

“UK is average in the tournament” is an alternative fact

Lmao. If you go to wabbott52’s Instagram he is an IU fan. Clearly he knows what a good basketball team looks like 😂

We as UK fans are a little obnoxious sometimes. We belittle kids twitters when they dont play to your crazy expectations and we make fun of other teams that beat us. Sooooo confusing as to how you can make fun of IU that put us out the tournament last year. Same with LSU, they beat our asses last year and we act like we are untouchable. Sometimes fans speak before thinking and as a fan it gets a little annoying. In the past 2 years we’ve been beaten by Kansas twice, UCLA twice and alot of teams that shouldn’t have beat us. We need to chill sometimes and focus on our team.

Breaking news: they’re going to let wabbott52 cut down the nets after the next IU home game because his comment made KSR

Referring to the fire Cal or Cal can’t coach crowd.

I am saddened to see Cal’s comments the last couple of games. While a final four appearance seemed like a stretch, I now think a sweet 16 appearance is a stretch.

Average come tourney time? Four final fours runners up and one ‘ship? Average my ass

I like the comment about Cal’s teams always being average in tourney time, that he can’t coach and just gets the top recruits.

Four Final Fours in 7 years with 2 title game appearances and 1 title. Disappointing to UK fans because we were so close the first year with the Elite 8 and then each of the Final Four years. But average?

Strangely, when coaches like Williams or K or Self or Izzo have a top 5 recruiting class, they don’t always make the Final 4. How is that possible? Obviously Duke and Mich. St must be locks for the Final Four this year with Top 5 classes and HoF coaches. Neither have had any difficulties or bad losses or maturity problems.

Why do these idiots keep trying to force the “Cal just rolls the ball out” narrative?
