University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Today on KSR: Will They Stay or Go?

Decision season officially tipped off yesterday afternoon when P.J. Washington became the first Kentucky underclassman to declare for the NBA Draft.  The small forward will not hire an agent.  There are a few reasons why yesterday’s announcement has many believing he will return to UK after participating in the NBA Combine.

Few expected Washington to be the first domino to fall.  Reports indicated that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander would make a decision last night, but that has been pushed back until next Monday.  What that means, no one knows.

The biggest question mark and most exciting news from yesterday comes from Kevin Knox.  John Calipari met with the family of Kentucky’s leading scorer to pitch a sophomore comeback.  When you read Knox Sr.’s comments to Kyle Tucker, it’s impossible to quell expectations.  Once believed to be a sure-thing, maybe Knox will resist the NBA Draft for one more year to get a coveted National Championship.

We will know Knox’s decision by Friday, but it could happen at any moment.  Keep your ears peeled for a “MEOW” from Drew on the KSR app.

Louisville Lost

Of course they did.  An explosive offensive performance in the middle of a sloppy game, Kentucky took a 6-4 lead in the bottom of the fourth and never looked back.  It’s the 20th win of the season for the tenth-ranked Bat Cats, and their final victory over UofL at The Cliff.

This weekend they will host South Carolina.  The program brings plenty of prowess, and their coach is tougher than nails.  He eats baseballs for breakfast.  See it and believe it.

Holy Monk!

Get Fit with Jared

The famed KSR Football Podcaster and Kentucky quarterback will be on Kentucky’s campus this morning to host a “Let’s Get Fit” event as a part of The Jared Lorenzen Project.  If you’re looking for a reason to get in shape, today is a great day to start.  Join Jared from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for a little boot camp and public walk at the College of Public Health on UK’s Campus.  Click here for more information.

On a semi-related note, if you’re waiting for a new KSR Football Podcast, the wait is almost over.  Freddie is on Spring Break this week.  When he returns we will have everything you need to prepare for next week’s Blue/White Game.

A Champion is Crowned

The Funkhouser Situation returns today to complete the controversial Disney-Pixar Bracket.  Not gonna lie, listening to it gave me a case of the Disney fever.  I don’t think I’ll be able to shake it until I re-watch Aladdin, Lion King and Toy Story.

A Champion Geeks

Notre Dame’s buzzer-beating star gained a couple of fans last weekend, most notably Kobe.  Arike Ogunbowale lost it when she saw him Tweet her following the semifinal win.  Now he follows her and like most people, she really doesn’t really know how to handle it.

Gotta believe Washington is just seeking feedback, which will be that there is little room in the NBA for a 6’7″ forward without three point range or much of a handle.

Oh, thank you, young Master Nick. Thank you, thank you! You’re the only one on the KSR staff who realizes that basketball games are started with a TIP-OFF and so uses the appropriate metaphor to symbolize initiating a basketball-related event. I tip my hat, sir![
