Shoutout to these Kentucky and KSR fans celebrating their honeymoon in Turks and Caicos this morning. Mission accomplished, we are all jealous.
What awaits us in the world of UK Sports today? Let me tell you.
The NFL Draft begins
The NFL Draft begins today, and although it’s doubtful that Kentucky will have a player selected, there’s still plenty of fun to be had. Where will Lamar Jackson go? What about Frankfort native Logan Woodside, who broke all sorts of passing records at Toledo? Will we have another Laremy Tunsil surprise? The first round is tonight at 8 p.m. on ESPN, Fox, NFL Network, etc. etc.
Awaiting Calipari’s response
Yesterday, the NCAA Commission on College Basketball handed down its recommendations on how to fix the problems facing the sport, and, as expected, there were some good ideas, but also some tone-deafness, including no progress towards letting players profit of their likeness. John Calipari, a man with many ideas on the subject, tweeted that he had minor surgery on Tuesday and hadn’t had time to properly review the presentation yet, but knowing Cal, the wheels are turning and he’s either typing in the hospital bed or dictating his thoughts to his daughter Erin or Eric Lindsey.
Cal is bound to give a response before the weekend, so stay tuned.
UK Baseball took care of Morehead State
Kudos to the Bat Cats for taking care of business last night vs. Morehead State 7-1 thanks to a pair of home runs by Luke Heyer and Ben Aklinski. This weekend, Kentucky will host Missouri for a three-game series, and with the weather forecast looking absolutely gorgeous, make plans to go out and enjoy some of the final games at The Cliff.

Karl Towns and the Timberwolves eliminated from the Playoffs
It wasn’t the best night for NBA Cats in the Playoffs, as Karl Towns’ Timberwolves were eliminated by the Rockets and the Raptors took a 3-2 lead vs. John Wall and the Wizards. Patrick Patterson and Dakari Johnson’s Thunder beat the Jazz to move the series to 3-2, making for three Game 6’s on Friday night. Tonight, you can see Game 6 between the Celtics and Eric Bledsoe’s Bucks at 8 p.m. on TNT.
Oh yeah, in case you needed a reminder, LeBron James is still clutch:

Need a Matt Jones fix?
Even though he’s on vacation, Matt made an appearance on The Paul Finebaum Show yesterday to respond to the NCAA Committee’s report. Listen along halfway through Hour 2 at this link.
Anyone else seeing Avengers: Infinity War tonight?
Just me and the nerds? That’s cool. I can’t wait, if only to see Thor again.
Cameron Mills takes over KSR
The guest hosts this week have killed it, and I have no doubt Cameron Mills and his crew will also bring it this morning. Tune in an hour from now to hear their take on the NCAA committee’s suggestions and whatever else tickles their fancy.
