Three Kentucky players in first round of CBS Mock Draft

Kentucky has played just one game (one we wish we could forget) but the CBS Sports Mock Draft features a trio of Cats.

Although Keldon Johnson is the only player projected in the lottery (No. 9), P.J. Washington (No. 24) and Ashton Hagans (No. 25) were included in the first round. Johnson’s 23 points was a rare bright spot from Tuesday’s game and it’s clear his potential is through the roof. Washington at No. 24 sounds about right but I was surprised to see Hagans included in the first round. Hagans has the highest ceiling of UK’s point guards but it could be a few months before he puts it all together. Kyle Boone has a flattering comparison for Hagans although I’m not sure I agree.

E.J. Montgomery not being included seems like a mistake, but we’re still over half a year away from the NBA Draft and these mock drafts will continue to change every week.

Interesting to see UK recruiting target Jaden McDaniels’ brother Jalen McDaniels at No. 14. Jalen plays for SDSU and the Aztecs are thought to be one of the leaders for Jaden. Jaden will visit UK this weekend.

The blurbs about the Kentucky players are below, but you can see the entire mock HERE.

Keldon Johnson is a legit first round pick, but not top 10. Whatever gm would draft PJ or Hagans should lose their job on the spot.

Maybe after that game they will all want to come back and then we can be extremely loaded next year if we add a couple stars

Fantastic news. Cal probably enjoys hearing this more than he would have enjoyed keeping it within 20 against Duke.

Let’s move these guys out so we can bring in new recruits and talk about 2021 recruiting!

I concur. What a waste of time even bring this up already. Good lord. And we wonder why the TEAM got destroyed Tuesday. How about we let ‘em play half a season at least before useless speculation?

Today? Really. This is why most people hate the one and done. Team goes out and gets absolutely blown off the floor, and three days later we find out how many NBA draft picks we have

This is REAL news!! Especially after the performance Tuesday. At this point in time I could care less about their draft standing. How about try to be a good college player first?
