University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

This is for the Brad Calipari haters out there…

Brad Calipari has gotten a little bit of negative heat from some Kentucky fans for taking a walk-on spot on the team. You may recall the one fan who wrote a scathing letter to the editor of The Herald-Leader, and others–not many, but some–have expressed similar thoughts about Brad playing for his father.

Well, this video proves Brad can light it up from outside and will deserve some playing time next season. I’m not saying he should see 20 minutes a game, but those fans acting like he’s incompetent with a basketball in his hands, need to watch this video.

Kid’s worked very hard to get where he is. Sure, his dad is Coach Cal, but he’s got some game, too.

Brad being at UK keeps Cal at UK at least 4 more years; fans complaining even if they’re the small minority, man we have some stupid fans in the BBN.

I honestly don’t see him getting more minutes than the average Cal walk-on. He’s a 6’0″ SG going up against taller – probably 6’4″ to 6’6″ guys – who are way more athletic than what he was playing up against in prep school. Sure his limited athleticism and shot worked against kids at Deerfield, but I don’t see his game transitioning to the level he’s going to be playing at. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him knockdown open shots like that late in a blowout game given his perfected technique.

Just download Google Chrome and avoid the trouble. It’s free and is the best web browser anyway.

I can’t wrap my head around someone being upset at him taking a walk on spot? Like there’s some 5 star kid from Kentucky that we’re passing on who’s dying for our walk on spot.

He is going to be a coach. Best place for him to learn the ropes is Lexington. Makes sense. It helps he is likely a good student as well.

Are there really KY fans complaining about him taking a walk on spot? I’d have to think they are UL fans.

Drew, this is your worst post of all time. No disrespect to Brad, he might get time as some point in his career. But this is a 22 second video of him making 6 shots in a row. Thousands of high school kids can do that, this video does not prove he can play at Kentucky. C’mon man!

This just in to the news center, “Brad is going to play at Kentucky…get used to it.”
I say, give it your best shot, kid!

Give him a chance. Then judge. He hasn’t even played in a game for us yet. He could be the next, much shorter, Willis. If he can come off of screens and nail jumpers consistently, I say welcome to the team.

I’m glad he’s here, but let’s face it . . . he’s a victory cigar for when we’re up 25 with under 2 minutes to go. All the guys that come here were studs in high school. Brad wasn’t. It doesn’t matter how good your shot is if you can’t create space to get it off. These boys play on a different level. A great shooter lacking speed and strength will not be able to stay on the floor against elite college athletes.

Folks actin crazy, like he’s any different from any other walk-on lol he’s not gonna get any significant run, guys. Re-laaaxxx. Just cause we say that, doesn’t mean we hate that he’s here lol don’t know how one can get that inference???

Come on, Drew. I like Brad and I think it’s great that he is here. I don’t see how anyone could view him on the team as being anything but a positive for the future of our program but what was so impressive about that video clip? Yeah, he knocked down a few shots in a row but so could I at the age. I just didn’t see anything on that clip that makes me think he is going to log minutes next year. Maybe some clean up minutes but I just don’t see anymore than that for next year. Hopefully he does become a good player who can contribute. I think that would be awesome to see.

By the way your blog sounded, I thought I was going to see him do some impressive things with some drills. Didn’t see that at all though. There was NOTHING on there to show he can play at UK. However, like I was saying, this isn’t a knock on Brad at all and I hope he becomes a great player here but it’s more of a knock on this video and you implying that there was something worthy to see on it. That, obviously, was not the case. Sorry! Still love ya though Drew! Keep up the great work! (Minus this blog though)
