There’s an LSU t-shirt commemorating “The Tip”

Look at LSU taking a page out of Indiana’s book. Breaking T is selling a t-shirt commemorating “The Tip,” aka Kavall Bigby-Williams’ controversial tip-in at the end of the Kentucky/LSU game. You know, the one that should have been called basket interference but the refs weren’t allowed to review it on replay, so LSU won.

“The shot missed, but the tip was good! Sorry Lexington,” the item’s description reads.

Here, Breaking T, let me fix that for you:

Knocking off No. 5 Kentucky in Rupp is definitely something to be proud of, but to make a t-shirt about a basket that should have been waved off? C’mon, Tigers. At least Christian Watford’s shot was legal.

Should’nt the shirt say “offensive basket interference”?

Or “The GoalTend”. What’s next, rings and popcorn boxes? I thought Crean was coaching at UGA, not LSU.

Maybe it should say “Just the tip”…

You can have your Tip, LSU because later we’re gonna give you the Shaft.

Ugh misplaced comma. You know what I mean.

Even the picture shows that that was clearly offensive interference

That was exactly what I thought when I saw the shirt…

So, it appears the LSU folks almost nailed it. The only thing missing is a hand.

Well if a lucky break makes them that happy, more power to ’em.

  5. 28 bucks for a shirt to commemorate 1 regular season win? Wow.

I think that’s the definition of “The Kentucky Effect”

Looks like an Everybody’s Superbowl t-shirt. The existence of this shirt proves Cal is right about that.

Has anyone been able to convince Dick V that the ball was above the cylinder? He was so sure it was off. Needs to bring the monocle back!

I have watched probably a dozen games since that game. The announcers have been ranting about that no-call during every game.
The shirt should say, “We get a rule change named after us”.

The thing is, Dick V wasn’t concerned about the ball in the cylinder, he just kept going on about it not touching the rim. Shouldn’t an “analyst” be more up on the rules than that?

When you don’t win championships you have to make a shirt about something I guess

Duke Vitale ruined the game for me (and every game he does) before the illegal tip. He’s all about calling attention to himself. Someone please get the duct tape.

So the last time someone made a t-shirt we won a Championship right? I’m fine with that

This shirt is payback for the February 1994 T-Shirts Kentucky had made after the LSU game down there!

KY could be 12-12 right now and fighting just to make the NIT, and there would still be Tshirts like this made…..how long have we seen it? Any of the non-perennial programs esp the SEC, who have ever won in Rupp treat the win the same way–its their biggest in school history, they make tshirts, they build statues on campus of the players who won, and it means more to their fans than if their team made a tournament run to the Final 4 or something. They could win a title and that STILL wouldnt be as big. Winning in Rupp: thats what college bball programs live for. And it doesnt have to be a #1-ranked, title-winning team for it to be the greatest win in that program’s history……

I hope youre not being serious…. Yea beating UK at Rupp is huge for anybody, but to say they would rather do that than win a title or go to the final 4 is just ridiculous
