The stage is set

HELLO (from) RUPP ARENA! (That was my best Ryan Lemond impression.) I am settling in to my seat for Big Blue Madness, and man, Rupp Arena looks good. The new ribbon boards have been installed and already make a huge difference in the atmosphere.

As for the rest of the setup, Big Bertha has been moved to the side for an elaborate lighting system, and I’ll be honest, I’m not sad to see her gone:

I just talked to someone who told me Calipari’s annual Madness Manifesto is under 300 words. I’ll believe it when I see it.

Plenty more to come. I’ll be doing a Madness Live Diary starting around 7 p.m., so stay tuned. I hear there are some pretty big VIPs in the building…

Is there a released schedule of events for tonight? Are the women doing their thing first followed by the guys? Just wondering when I need to take control of the tv from my kids tonight!
