The Sources Say Podcast Ep. 14: What happened against Evansville? Will Isaiah Jackson commit to Kentucky?

KSR’s Jack Pilgrim is joined by Travis Graf and David Sisk of Cats Illustrated for episode fourteen of the Sources Say Podcast.
This week, the trio of recruiting insiders opened the show by breaking down Kentucky’s embarrassing loss to Evansville and how it came to fruition.
A few talking points:
  • Who were the main culprits?
  • If Tyrese Maxey isn’t scoring, who else will?
  • What the heck is wrong with Ashton Hagans?
  • Should Kentucky fans be worried about the team moving forward?
  • Which loss was more painful: Duke last year or Evansville this year?

Then, Pilgrim, Graf, and Sisk talk to Isaiah Jackson’s head coach at Waterford Mott, David McGlowan, before breaking down the five-star forward’s recruitment leading up to decision day.

Among the topics:
  • What should Kentucky fans know about Jackson as a player and person? What’s his personality like?
  • Who, if anybody, knows where Jackson is going to school?
  • Does Kentucky have the best guard options for the athletic forward to play with?
  • Sisk breaks down his recent conversation with Jackson’s father
  • Kentucky hasn’t visited in five weeks… Why?
  • Reading the tea leaves…
To close the show, the Sources Say crew answers questions out of the mailbag from the Big Blue Nation.
  • Who will share point guard duties next year?
  • Does Coach Cal regret backing off of Jalen Green and Josh Christopher?
  • What’s the latest with Jonathan Kuminga?
  • What else will Kentucky do in the frontcourt?
  • Where is Patrick Baldwin Jr. going?

Woof. The audio issues on this one were very distracting. Love the work y’all do otherwise.

Jack, Travis “The Genius” Graf, and David what are our chances that we get Cade Cunningham? Oh wait… why would anyone believe a word you guys would say? You guys are just guessing just a like you were about Cunningham. Flip a coin! I hope to goodness you guys aren’t getting paid for this podcast! Pathetic! Graf can’t even speak!

Evan Daniels, who has a 94% all-time hit rate said this yesterday: “I 100% believed that my information was correct and I 100% believed that Cade Cunningham intended to go to Kentucky at that time. He planned at that time to cancel that Washington visit and go ahead and commit to Kentucky that week; I fully believe that.” You gonna say he was just guessing and flipped a coin too?

Done it myself Jack…Its very tough to explain how quickly things can change and how all you’re able to do is convey what you are being told (even more difficult when you have to convey it without giving sources or the real particulars or nuts and bolts about why you are saying what you’re sayin). Keep up the good work brother. The negative people are always the loudest…but the ones that appreciate the work you guys do (especially the ones that have lived it before) say thanks and keep it up!!
