The latest Bracketology is hardly surprising

Joe Lunardi’s latest Bracketology is out, and one potential regional matchup won’t surprise you. Lunardi has Kentucky and Louisville as the #1 and #2 seeds in the Midwest Region, with a potential Elite Eight matchup looming in Cleveland.

Sure, Lunardi’s bracket will change a million times before Selection Sunday and he almost never gets the matchups right, but the Committee putting UK and UofL in the same bracket again almost feels inevitable in this day and age of TV ratings.

Lunardi’s #1 seeds are Kentucky, Duke, Wisconsin, and Virginia. He has five SEC teams in: Kentucky (1), Arkansas (8), LSU (9), Georgia (10), and South Carolina (11). Not Florida. Hmm.

    Not surprised about Florida, which missed every quality win opportunity they had in the pre-conf season. They’ll need to beat most of those teams “currently” in to have a chance and may even need to beat us. Sad (not really).

    As the committee continues with marching orders to try and keep higher seeds closer to their ‘homes’ we will be matched up with UL in tourney scenarios quite frequently. As long as Cal and Pitino are coaching at the two schools they will continue to be perennial contenders for high seeds.

    Lunardi left out UConn, Georgetown and Georgia State in that bracket.

    Why Ga State? Harrow and Kevin Ware of course.

    The only way we face off in the national championship is if us or ul has a mediocre year and is a low seed, like I guess you could say happened to us last year. I do see them getting a 1 seed unless they drop 2-4 acc games, but Duke, virgina, Louisville, and others will beat each other up in the acc.

    They would never put Duke and UNC in the same bracket no matter what.
