The latest parody video by the Holderness Family is making the rounds on Facebook this week, and if you like it, we can’t be friends.
Who is the Holderness Family? They’re a family from Raleigh who spends their time making awful parody videos. You may remember them from such hits as “All About that Baste” and “#XMAS JAMMIES,” videos so vile that I made it about 30 seconds through before the dad rapping made me dry heave. Unfortunately, the dad’s having the last laugh; the videos have been so successful, he quit his normal job as a newscaster to make more.
The Thanksgiving mashup is slightly less offensive, but only by a little bit. I actually thought “Let me sip my chardonnae nae” was a clever line, but it was all downhill from there. Like falling down a hill and rolling in dog poop bad. Both Adele and Drake deserve an apology. Parents, be honest with me: is this one of those things that becomes funny when you have kids? If so, I’m never procreating.
In short, Holderness Family got me like:
Anyways, here’s the agenda for the rest of the day…
We’ll hear from Mark Stoops twice
I didn’t think it was possible for the UK/UofL game to fly under the radar, but so far this week, it has. Mark Stoops will be on the SEC Coaches Teleconference around lunch and will also address reporters after practice. Today is the last time the media will hear from him before Saturday’s showdown with the Cards, so check the site for recaps.
Speaking of, did you listen to the latest KSR podcast?
I joined Nick, Freddie, and Jared to recap the Charlotte game and get ready for Louisville and, unwittingly, played the role of Debbie Downer. I’m trying my hardest to be positive for Saturday’s game, but after being burned so many times this season, it’s tough.
Regardless, we covered a lot of fun topics, like how awesome Les Miles is, which position group could win the game, and our favorite Thanksgiving side dishes. Get through a slow work day with the podcast, which you can find on iTunes at “Kentucky Sports Radio” or HERE.
The basketball team leaves for Miami
It’s a quick turnaround for John Calipari and his squad, who will leave for Miami around noon. Once in Miami, the team will do an activity at the Alonzo Mourning Center and practice at the Miami facility before going out to dinner tomorrow night. On Thanksgiving, they’ll practice at noon and have a meal at a country club in Miami with a friend of Calipari’s around five. Cal said some of the players’ families will also be in Miami and they’ll have a dessert bar at the hotel for everyone to enjoy.
I don’t even want to know how much pumpkin pie a college basketball team can consume. Guesses?
It was subtle, but Calipari took a little shot at Louisville last night
While discussing the pains of traveling with a team over the holidays, John Calipari took an itty bitty little shot at the Cards last night, telling radio listeners that he’d rather his guys get extra time with their families over Christmas than bust their butts preparing for Louisville.
“Everybody goes crazy, ‘why wouldn’t you practice over Christmas to get ready for Louisville?’. Because I’m not worried about Louisville,” Cal said, pausing to stare at the crowd. “I’m worried about my family and these kids’ families. You know what? I know how good Louisville is, and I think these guys having time off is better for them.”

Subtle? Yes, but look at that face:
Is it December 26th yet??
KSR is at Sternberg Automotive in Louisville
Come on down to 6507 Preston Highway to enjoy the show and register for the chance to win UK/Louisville football tickets. It’s the day before Thanksgiving; you’d just be pretending to work at work anyways.
